Real Estate Division Breaks Ground on New Mixed-Use Development in North Texas
The project will feature commercial space, residential units, and a flagship TXB location, demonstrating portfolio synergy.
Taylor-Smartt L.L.C.'s Real Estate & Development division today celebrated the groundbreaking of "The Smartt Center," a new mixed-use development located in a rapidly growing suburb of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. The project is a prime example of the company's strategy to leverage its diverse business units for synergistic growth.
The development, which spans 25 acres, will include 150,000 square feet of Class A commercial office space, 200 luxury residential units, and a central retail hub anchored by a new, expanded-format TXB convenience store. The site was strategically acquired and entitled by the Real Estate division, which will also manage the property upon completion.
“The Smartt Center is more than just a development; it’s a physical manifestation of our integrated business model,” said the Head of Real Estate & Development. “By combining our real estate expertise with the operational needs of our retail and energy divisions, we create a highly desirable, self-sustaining community that maximizes value for all stakeholders. This project will truly 'Leave 'Em Better' by providing essential services and quality living spaces.”
Economic Impact
The multi-phase project is expected to generate hundreds of construction jobs and dozens of permanent retail and office positions. The development is scheduled for completion in late 2027, with the TXB anchor store opening in mid-2026.
Taylor-Smartt L.L.C. continues to seek out similar opportunities in high-growth corridors across the Southwest, focusing on strategic land acquisition and development that supports its core businesses.
